Haukåsbanen was developed as a feability study for an urban gondola track based on the premise of public transport to and from Konnerud. It was part of the ambition for Konnerud to maintain todays values of skiing and excercice, nature and outdoor life while maintaining the harmony through modern means with urban life in Drammen.

The gondola will revitalise Haukåsløypa and move the ski centre to Haukåstoppen and by default make the natural surrounding accessible to everyone. It creates a unique view point towards Haukåstoppen with teaching opportunities in science, sports and work conferances. It works as a “vitamin boost” for Marienlyst og Konnerud while connecting tourism in Drammen towards Konnerud through sustainable means. It elimintates the need for the Konnerud road, amplifies the sport offer at Konnerud and Marienlyst while creating residential connections at Konnerud.
