The project was the result of a competition held in 2020 to develop the site where MAXI shopping centre is in Sandnes.

The area contains a hybrid program – offices, retail and residential – where a city from the existing centre is built and connects the isolated site to Sandnes centre. The urban structure is reinstated from the citys’ origin and the MAXI-area is urbanized through a city square, urban blocks, peripheral buildings, and internal communications which gives a wholistic view for the city. The use of active facades and attractive city residential areas on multiple levels provides endurance and safety for future development.
