The project results in a new fire station at Langkaia in Oslo and establishes a new green lung in the city that combines park/free space with the city's security and a new public area to expose this important resource. The basement floor gives a solid base for the building where lesser functions are tucked in the back to ensure a safe and effective response, where open spaces give room for activities outside hours.
The project lies in a historic context where this is reflected in the material use and façade design where the importance of brick shines. The main construction is CLT and contains a blue-green roof giving life to all species.
