The German School of Oslo moved from Sporveisgata in late 2021 to Myrens Verksted in Oslo. The existing industrial buildings from 1920, 1980 and 2000 with a fragmented building mass where heights of different rooms were transformed into a modern school and kindergarten. The building communicated with the park and Akerselva, does not change the buildings’ identity or expression, but emphasizes the scheme and history.
Internally the project expresses the feeling of the room through colours that molds and develops as the students get older. The colours are based on a simple algorithm that includes identifying colours for school, level and room.
