The center was originally opened as Spareland in 1985 and has undergone several major upgrades, the latest in the period 2014-2017.

The project included the rebuilding and expansion of the existing shopping centre. The center is regarded as one of Buskerud's largest shopping centers and underwent an extensive upgrade incl. establishment of a new COOP department store, two new goods receptions to the east and west, facade renovation, two new entrances to the north and east as well as upgrading of common areas and shop premises incl. new escalators and conveyor belts.
