ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND VISUAL QUALITIES: The architectural concept of the project is a composition of two building volumes – one long and lower and one short but higher, which intertwine. A long volume (buildings B and C), designed in a sandwich wall technology, has a decorative cornice around it, which "nails" the hardware store and high-rise warehouse in one. The building is articulated to the south with a cantilevered roof in a dynamic form. The roof has not only aesthetic, but also functional importance and protects the goods reception and outdoor storage for wooden products from rain. Building B "opens up" towards E18 with a glass facade over two floors, which gives a visually inviting impression. This high volume is articulated with vertical wooden cladding, which clarifies the entrance area. The wooden cladding also forms a cozy background for store profiling and is a "business card" for Maxbo timber business. The glass facade over two floors lets a lot of daylight into the entrance area and the common area on the 2nd floor, while also providing a good overview of the car park and the view towards the sports facilities. Great emphasis is placed in the project on the building's aesthetic qualities, adaptation to the surroundings, connection with the GS road and environmentally-oriented solutions such as a green roof, solar panels on the roof and an integrated stream.
