Ulstein Arena is a gathering place for sports and activities for the residents of Ulsteinvik - a cultural center, and consists of a multi-purpose hall with swimming facilities, climbing hall and public library.
The building is divided into two volumes with a common entrance and lift for easy access, which makes the building less dominant in an area of single-family housing where the communication routes around the building have been retained.
The main materials are concrete, patinated Rheinzink cladding and large glass surfaces on the facade in stark contrast to the warm three-coloured interior of the swimming hall.
The project is the result of collaboration with Lund+Slaatto Arkitekter where ANT was responsible for the swimming facility.
